About this Episode
Reid describes why bail is important: “It is a desperate fight now to make sure a person gets bail. It’s always been true that [bail] was always critical in terms of giving the person the best chance to defend themselves…everything from being able to prepare them to testify so that their appearance is better, their health is better…they can assist in finding witnesses….There’s a million reasons why you’ve got to get them out.”
Reid Rusonik has been practicing criminal law since 1984. Since the mid-90s, he has been the managing partner of Pinkofskys and now Rusonik, O’Connor, Robbins, Ross & Angelini, LLP. He’s done hundreds of contested trials and even more bail hearings as well as countless dozens of bail reviews. He believes getting a client bail is both the most critical part of a successful defence and a successful practice.
